The third time is the charm!

Judge using his gavel

By Irene Conlan -

This is the third article I’ve written for this blog today and, hopefully, the first one that stays up. I wrote what I thought was a really great article about not  judging other people, complete with a picture of a judge in court pounding the desk with his gavel.  (see picture on the left) The article was over 700 words long which is a little too long. I was on the last sentence when I hit a wrong  key, highlighting the whole article, and with the next key stroke, which was coming too fast to stop, deleted  the whole article. The “undo” feature did not work. Well, that’s how it goes some days.

Soooo. I started all over. I wrote another article on not judging other people, this time a little shorter and a little tighter. I posted it – picture of the judge and all – looked at the site to be sure all was well and went about my other business. I went back later to post the new “Quote of the Day” and my article on judging had only the introductory paragraph. The rest of it was gone! This time I was annoyed. There was no reason this article should disappear. Why did it go? Where did it go? Only the computer knows for sure.

So here we are – an article with no topic and no purpose other than to complain about the computer. Yes, I know about saving my work along the way. In fact, I just clicked “save draft” for this one.

It’s such a great picture of the judge that I thought I’d include it,  too.

The jist of the article was that, since we have no standard to use to judge other people, like real judges have the law to use as a standard, we had better leave the job of judge to him/her.

Keep your thoughts positive about yourself and about other people. Accept yourself and them just as you and they are and always remember the advice of  Thumper’s mother: “If you can’t say something good about somebody, don’t say nothin’ at all.”

Enjoy the picture of the judge.
