Kelly Osbourne, you are a winner
After Kelly and Louie van Amstel danced for the last time, when they stood before the judges, Kelly said, “Now when I look in the mirror I see everything that’s right with me instead of everything that’s wrong with me.”
Wow! Let’s all get on Dancing With the Stars if this is the outcome.
When I saw her on the first show I thought, “Oh, no. This won’t be good.” I had seen her on their reality show and wasn’t impressed. I was totally wrong and I am so happy to admit that.
It was obvious that in the beginning she had some self esteem challenges and it was also obvious that she was serious about competing in Dancing With the Stars. After her dance that first night, she was at the top of my “favorites” list. I watched her week after week give it 100% and I watched her become more and more self assured, more confident in her ability. Regardless of how trite the analogy, she was the chrysalis becoming the beautiful butterfly. You saw her emerge over the weeks and in the finale she spread her wings in a lovely waltz. She became a beautiful, radiant lady who can do anything she chooses to do.
When the votes were counted, she came in third. But she was first place in the hearts of many of us and she was definitely a winner.
Kelly, you were amazing. You have taught us all to look in the mirror and see what is right.
Thank you.
