Let’s Talk About Hypnosis -Listen Now

To Listen Click Here

On Thursday , October 6th, Dr. Yates Andy  will again be on The Self Improvement Show and we’re going to talk about hypnosis. We invite you to call in with your question, concerns,and/or  experiences. Call in number: 866-613-1612

Hypnosis is one of the most effective tools in the self improvement arena and yet it is significantly under-used. Even though it was approved by the American Medical Association as a treatment modality in 1956, physicians still don’t use it and rarely recommend it. It is grossly misunderstood by professionals and clients alike. It is hard to define and yet the evidence of its effectiveness can be clearly demonstrated.

A high percentage of my clients come in even though they are afraid they will do things they don’t want to do because their need for change impels them to try it. They usually leave both surprised and pleased by what they’ve accomplished and experienced and look forward to subsequent appointments. The truth is that they are always in control and won’t do anything they don’t want to do. It is safe, effective, something you can do for yourself and has no side effects unless you count relaxation and a feeling of well-being a side effect.

Both Andy Yates and I are certified hypnotherapists. Andy has a Ph.D. in hypnotherapy and I have a Master’s degree in Nursing with a minor in Psychiatric Nursing. We have both been practicing hypnotherapists for quite a number of years. Andy’s new book C’ing is believing is a remarkable book about hypnosis and its effectiveness. Hopefully, we can answer your questions.

This will be a conversation between two hypnotherapists and you -  if you wish to be a part of it. We will NOT be giving advice about treatment or therapy on any personal issues. We WILL be talking about what hypnosis can be used for, what you can expect in a session,  some our success stories and, yes, some of our failures.

We think it will be fun – and informative.

Chitoka  Webb grew up in poverty, living in the projects in Nashville but she had a dream of owning her own business. Despite the obstacles, she became a successful entrepreneur who owns and operates two barbershops and two health care agencies for the mentally challenged. She seems to personify the saying, “What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.”  While it is not unusual for a woman to become a successful business woman, what IS unusual is way she met the obstacles along her journey to success and the spirit that compelled her to overcome them and to continue to fight for her dream. Her story is about attitude, determination, humor and “Something” within her that made all the difference.

From Kung Fu to Peacemaker: Doug Noll. Listen NOW

Doug Noll is a peacemaker. With a background as a trial attorney, a black belt in Chinese Kung Fu and experience working with women in the world’s toughest prison, he certainly has the knowledge and skill to resolve conflict in non-peaceful ways. He chooses peacemaking through mediation. As he became interested in international mediation efforts he observed that international mediators, for the most part, were inexperienced in the science and art of mediation. Their rookie mistakes were making things worse, often leading to genocide or further war. Unfortunately, political leaders, diplomats, special envoys, and retired generals are often appointed to a job for which they are not trained nor have sufficient aptitude. Elusive Peace shows why we can no longer afford to allow political, diplomatic, and military leaders to mediate peace accords. They simply don’t know what they are doing. This is sure to be an interesting and  provocative show that you won’t want to miss.

Guest Biography

After a successful 22 year trial career, Doug Noll decided that litigation was a wasteful way to resolve conflicts. He went back to school to earn his Masters Degree in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies and has dedicated his life to peacemaking. Doug is a nationally recognized mediator, trainer, and speaker who hosts a weekly radio show dedicated to giving a voice to international peacemaking.  He is an author of the books Elusive Peace: How Modern Diplomatic Strategies Could Better Resolve World Conflicts; Sex, Politics & Religion at the Office: The New Competitive Advantage; and Peacemaking: Practicing at the Intersection of Law and Human Conflict. Doug’s current pro bono project is training murderers committed to life sentences in the largest women’s prison in the world to become peacemakers and mediators.
