Seven Ways to Ask For What You Want and Get It!

clouds1By Stephanie Florman –

The only way to get what you want is to ask for it! All manifestations begin with asking. This is Step One in the conscious creation process, so it is important that you learn to start asking consciously. Here are seven ways to ask for what you want…and get it!

1.         Be Grateful: All good prayers begin with a thank you! It is important to enter a state of gratitude before asking because it keeps your focus on the abundance that already exists in your life. It is a resourceful state that strengthens the law of attraction. Find something to be grateful for; it does not need to even be relevant to what you want to attract, it can be anything. First be grateful, then ask.

2.         Be Specific:
Clarity attracts clarity. Ambivalence attracts ambivalence. You need to know what you want, and the more specific your request is, the more specific your response will be. For example, if you ask for abundance, you probably won’t get what you think you should because The Universe already sees you in an abundant state. Asking for abundance requires that you look at the abundance you already have (see Step One). Let’s say you ask for abundance and you clarify that request by asking for more money. If you find a penny in the street, your request has been answered and you have received a sign that you are on the right track! Now think about the specific amount of money you want and allow The Universe to respond by making opportunities in the form of choices available to you. Return back to gratitude — and clarify, clarify, clarify! You will always get exactly what you ask for!

3.         Be Clear: You need to know more than just what you want. You need to know why you want it. If you do not know why you want what you want, the first sign of any resistance or any set-backs will become more influential than your original wish. Make your “whys” bigger than your “wants,” and make them personal and meaningful; because it is your “whys” that will keep you going. You may want more money, but if you do not know why, you will not be able to receive that penny on the street as a sign that you are on the right track. Your “whys” help to keep your conscious and unconscious mind on track and on the same team.

4.         Be Open: You take care of the “what you want” and the “why you want it” and The Universe will take care of the how. Always. If you are not in an open state when you are asking, you are expecting, demanding or pushing. Not only do your expectations and demands take all the fun out of the process, they prevent you from seeing your answers everywhere. There are so many paths that can lead you towards your answer that if you focus solely on one of them, it creates great limitations and frustration. I never know how the how will happen; only that it will happen. And usually it never comes from the direction I think it will.

5.         Be Determined:
You will get what you want, so do not give up! The how and when of your answered prayer will be determined by The Universe and will happen in Divine Time, not (insert your name here) time! Universally speaking, you can only want for yourself and do for yourself, so keep your attention focused on your requests and your responses. Remember that getting what you want is not really about getting what you want; it is about who you become in the process.

6.         Be Empty:
You must create the space to welcome that which you want. One of my clients wanted to attract a new relationship into her life, and every session she would talk about her ex-boyfriend. While in reality their relationship was over, he was still filling the “intimate relationship” space in her life. We made an agreement that every time she brought up her ex, she would also tell me the story of her future, and of the incredible relationship she would one day experience with a great man. It was when her future became more exciting than her past that she was able to let the ex go and welcome many potential men into her life who would match her vision. One benefit of letting go is that you create the space to welcome that which you want.

7.         Be Action Oriented: Ask yourself what actions can I take today to align me with what I am asking for? One day I was waiting for a check to come in so I could pay my rent. The more I focused on the check, the longer it took to come. I made a decision that my rent would be paid that day (even though I did not have the funds at the time) and so I asked myself the question, “What can I do?” I sat at my desk and wrote out my rent check, all the while feeling very grateful. I saw myself giving my landlord the check, and feeling peaceful knowing my rent expense was paid. That day when I went to my office, I sorted through the mail and the check I was waiting for was not there. I kept looking through the pile, however, and found three checks from other sources that I had not been expecting at all!

To get what you want, you need to know what you want, why you want it and keep yourself in the resourceful states of gratitude, openness and relaxation. You need to take those inspired actions that align you with what you want. Ask for what you want…and let me know how you get it!
