Wealth Brings Freedom
Money alone will not make you happy. It’s what the money can do for you that can bring joy. It can give you leverage to capture a life-long dream. It can go to a family in need. It has given me the ability to buy this computer, my writing tool in sharing my Blast Off! concepts.
Money is often given a negative connotation. You’ve heard the idea that having wealth will make you greedy or give you an attitude of being “better than.” How can this be true? Money is actually an avenue for freedom of choice. Just as a state of balanced health gives us freedom to move and be in the world, money gives us the freedom to do, or not to do, what we choose. When money is limited, your choices are limited. If you’re struggling to come up with cash, your choices of housing and food decrease. The more money you have access to, the less you worry about survival, which frees up your mind from unwanted thoughts. Therefore, money is an avenue of liberty because it gives you independence to express your creative and individual voice.
What you want to spend your money on may not be what I want to spend my money on. Money is used to express your desires, whether you save it, invest it, or spend it. You may enjoy spending your cash on mystery novels and I enjoy spending mine on a vacation to Mexico. You may donate funds to the homeless and I choose to support a literacy campaign. Money gives us the freedom to express toward our passions. If you have money, you have more choices.
The Door to the Big Unknown
After years of feeling stuck and unfulfilled, I officially hit a major impasse in my life path. I had no financial support, no inheritance looming, and zero in my savings account. The way I saw it, I had three choices:
1. Cave into the pressure, stay stuck, and allow life to continually overwhelm me.
2. Resort to the same habitual ways of doing a job (or making money) that continually left me feeling emotionally flat and worn out.
3. Step out into the big unknown world, face my fears, and aim for a life with purpose.
To this day, I’m so thankful that I dug deep, gathered my courage, and opted for Door Number Three. Many people stay immobile and stick with Door Number One or Door Number Two because they feel that nothing is worth risk¬ing the security and stability of a lifestyle that they feel familiar and safe with, even if they’re unhappy. I’m not criticizing this choice. Only you can determine the right path for you. There are realistic issues of responsibilities, the cost of living, education and retirement. I get it. Remember, I was there.
What I can say to help quell your fears is that when you’re following your passion, the excitement and momentum you expel can create a financially rewarding outcome far above and beyond your survival consciousness. The key is to move from survival thinking to abundance living.
Blast Off Practice #1 Flip Switch Your Money Fear to Money Flourish
Read the first exercise in the Wealth sector of Blastation so you can begin to change any of your fearful thoughts about money from Survival Consciousness to Abundant thinking.
This exercise is so pertinent now because our economy is so unpredictable. There’s a fear of the security in the future. Yet, by holding back on spending or giving, we create a self-fulfilling prophecy and a bottle-neck effect. Fear just creates more fear, even when there is nothing to be fearful of.
The more you hold back from fear, the less room there is for money to flow easily into your life.
Blast Off Practice #2 What Are Your Childhood Money Tapes?
What were you taught about money as a child. These values could have been discussed from your parents or unknowingly taught by example. For instance, if one or both of your parents constantly complained about money and worried they would not have enough, you may have developed a belief system that money is scarce and hard to come by. Therefore you may hang on tight to your money, rarely ever take risks and therefore stay in the mode of struggling and surviving. On the other hand, if you had an authority figure demonstrate the possibilities one has when they open up to the world’s optimism and possibilities, you may be more willing to open up to the many possibilities.
Make a list of the negative beliefs concerning money that you have carried through your life in the Shift and Lift exercise on the Wealth page of your Blastation. Now that you have written those old thoughts down, think about how they have influenced the life choices and daily behavior in your career, relationship, and personal fulfillment. We think it only affects our bank account, but in reality, if you did not have those negative beliefs, you may have made very different choices in your past.
- Have you taken a career you did not want because of your fear of money?
- Have you stayed in a relationship because of your fear about money?
- Have you stopped doing things you love because you are afraid you will be without funds?
I am not invalidating your choices, I am just suggesting to take an honest look and see how powerful those childhood money beliefs can impact our entire lives. Mind bending, huh? The good thing is that we can shift our money thinking. And this can be one of the most powerful tools in accessing an abundance of wealth.
Think about it. If you just expect and know money is coming freely and easily to you, you will have much less hesitation to take risks and put yourself out there. And the more you put yourself out into the world, the more opportunity you will find. You cannot find it sitting tight at home holding onto your nest egg. Do not confuse this with the idea that impulsiveness or spending with abandon is a good practice. Rather It is a knowingness that you are presenting to the world that “money is coming”. To seal the deal, follow this knowingness with consistent daily action toward your goals.
Blast Off Practice #3 Speaking Abundant Language
Now I would like you to flip your negative beliefs to positive and abundant statements.
If one of your beliefs is: “I don’t deserve to have money,” your abundant statement might be, “I deserve prosperity, and it is coming easily and freely to me.”
If another belief is, “Money brings negativity” your positive statement might be, “Money allows me freedom to give to myself and the world. Only good can come of this.”
Input your new positive and abundant beliefs into your Shift and Life Exercise on the first exercise of the Wealth page of Blastation. It may take a week, a month or even bit longer to shift the energy from survival to abundance. Patience and persistence are required. You may have moments of feeling frustrated and doubtful of the pending positive changes. Acknowledge those feelings and then bring your thoughts and actions back on track. The reward for all of this intention and action will be well worth the wait.
Blast Off Practice #4 Illustrate Your Destination
Create a Big Picture Vision for Wealth: Create a financial plan or mon¬etary Big Picture Vision for the next five, ten, fifteen or twenty years. Input your financial goals in detail into the your Big Picture Vision for Wealth. Write in detail what you plan to make, how and why. (This information can change and evolve along the way.) By putting these figures in writing, you are setting your money intention to actualize your plan and receive fiscally.
Then upload any photos that depict wealth or what you plan do with all of your wealth.
Blast Off Practice #5 Move Your Thoughts to Action with Mini Feats™
Apply one of your daily Mini Feats to Wealth Development. Whether it is the line saving or creating, always surround your action with abundant thinking.
Here are some ways to open up your money pipes:
- Pour all your debt into one money jar: If your debt is on credit cards, try to find the lowest-interest credit card you can find, and if possible, consolidate all the debt you owe onto one card. That will reduce the amount of emotional energy you extend by reducing the number of bills you receive each month. There are cards that offer low interest for a short period of time. Prior to the date of the interest increase, transfer once again to a new low-interest card until your debt is resolved.
- Auto-pay will brighten your day: If you have a large debt you’re paying off, set up your Internet banking so it will send one check per month larger than your minimum payment in whatever amount you decide on to pay it all off. That way, the balance will begin to shrink without you having to think or worry about it. Over time, the debt will dissolve.
- Stick $30 in the kitty: Put a certain amount of cash aside each week. For instance, if you put $30 per week in your piggy bank, that is $120 that can go to cover your finance charges. Then the rest you pay toward your credit bills will be above and beyond the interest-only payment that is keeping you stuck and trapped, where no energy can flow.
- Prosperity networking: Ask your successful friends, neighbors or mentors who they use for financial planning. Always get a few referrals when hiring someone to support your wealth-building.

Money is energy, so it flows in and out. When it is attached to something that’s meaningful to you, it will endure. Create enduring wealth through the manifestations of a passionate life.
Today is the perfect day to begin!
Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something that we tune into.”
