Amazing Self-Esteem

By Lynne Ferrari -

What if your life could be different?

What if you were finally able to make your dreams a reality? Are you getting all you desire from your state of being, like a happy love life, a healthy body, an exciting career?

What if you could? Wouldn’t that be amazing?

I bet if you’re reading this that you are like so many others who find reasons for why their life is how it is. You make excuses and probably blame your spouse, your family, your boss or the world in general.

Can you change that line of thinking? What if you were able to, really, easily able to, talk to yourself more positively? Are you wanting to make big differences your life, but just don’t know how to start?

You are not alone.

There are many who are tired of the same boring thing, day after day, year after year. There are many who want some purpose in their lives. They want deeper, more loving relationships and enjoyable work that provides a desired level of income.

What about your health? Is there improvement you would like to see there as well?

If so, then take a chance. Some people are so fearful of failure that they don’t even try. Humanity was not meant to live in fear. We were meant to envision a life that we want and then have the strength of character and ability within ourselves to go after it.

Did you know that people do not need to be poor? But only those with the deep sense of themselves, who have conviction and persistence, will create the life that they desire.

We are all creators and we all create our circumstances, they don’t just happen as we would like to believe. Sometimes it’s easier to think that our life ‘just happens’ without our control. Thinking this way lets us believe it’s not our fault and that we can’t do anything about it.

But it’s not the way it’s works.

The reality is you can have so much more! It truly is possible to reach your goals by learning how to have more self-confidence and a better self-esteem. Increased confidence will help you to gain control over your life and take you where you want to go.

Did you know that negative thoughts you have about yourself will create negativity in your life? You’ve probably heard ‘thoughts are things’, and maybe you never really understood what that phrase meant. But it really is true that if you think it, you will have it in your life. The brain has no choice but to do what you tell it to do. It works the other way as well, if you think positive thoughts, your brain will do as you command and it will create positivity in your life.

If you want to get rid of the negative thoughts you have about yourself as soon as you they come into your mind then you need to reprogram the way you think. This reprogramming will increase your self-esteem and when your self-esteem is high, your expectations become high and you will feel empowered to go after what you want…and get it!

I can help you to discover some secret ingredients and show you how to apply them to your life. Then you will see that everything else falls into place naturally. To get life changing results, you must change your mind-set. If you wish to be a happy and wealthy person, you need to work on both what goes on inside of you as well as outside.

So, do you seriously want to grow your confidence and achieve a healthier self-esteem? You can do it!

You just need a bit of quality help which you can find at http://www.selfconfidencesource.com.

Enjoy your life!

Remember, SELF MATTERS

Live a Healthy Balanced Life

By Melissa Boyas -

A healthy balanced life is achieved by eating a well-rounded diet & nourishing ourselves with optimal lifestyle factors such as spirituality, relationships, physical activity, & career.

A healthy diet consists of high quality foods that are organic as much as possible. Eat lots of whole grains & vegetables, then fruits, proteins, healthy fats & water. Now this information is not new to most. We all know what we “should” be eating. Most times if we are not sustaining a healthy diet there is some kind of block or barrier holding us back from meeting our health goals.

That brings us to the second key factor in health which is optimal lifestyle. In order to want to “eat & be healthy” a person needs positive connections through spirituality, relationships, career, & blood pumping physical activity. Have you ever found yourself not motivated to exercise & then you meet a new handsome man or beautiful woman & suddenly you are at the local gym inquiring about a new membership? Your longing for love & intimacy with the opposite sex has just “motivated” you to increase physical activity & to eat healthy.

Or perhaps you have felt like something is missing in you life. You feel a void & fill it by succumbing to your cravings or addictions. Taking the time to connect with your inner self through spiritual practices like prayer & meditation allows people to feel closer to a “higher being” or “God”. This spiritual sensitivity nourishes our bodies profoundly.

To fully achieve balance a person must also love the work they do, especially since we spend so much time working nowadays. And just as important, one must find the physical activity that excites them such as running, playing tennis, dancing or even hula hoop to keep your blood circulating.

So take a look at your spiritual practices, relationships, career, & physical activity. Are there any areas you could improve? Even a small change in any of these lifestyle factors will positively affect your life. Then you will find eating healthy comes easier because you “want” or are “motivated” to continue to nourish your body with goodness. Remember, it took years for you to develop the lifestyle & eating habits you currently have, therefore, it will take time & conscious effort to establish life long “health & balance”.

Baby Boomers – 4 Elements of a Healthy Lifestyle

Editor’s note: While this article specifies “Baby Boomers” it really applies to all of us. Enjoy.

By Sherry L Harris -

For anyone born during the post-World War II Era, up until the Vietnam Era, you have been automatically labeled a Baby Boomer. This generation had proven to be the largest in quite some time, and as they get older, more of a focus has been placed on becoming much healthier.

The Baby Boomers have seen the toll that hard work, lack of proper sleep, and poor nutrition have had on both their parents’ and grandparents’ generations, and this has been motivation to make a difference in overall lifestyle choices.

First and foremost, everything we do to our bodies has some kind of impact, whether it is positive or negative. But what we eat can sometimes help us to improve our quality of life, and make it possible to add several years to our lives. Good nutrition is significant, because it can release antioxidants for heart health, or help us to feel more energized so we engage in more activity throughout the day.

As long as we are practicing good nutrition, the next step would be to exercise. Whether you go to the gym every day of the week, or simply walk a mile a couple of days a week, physical activity has proven its benefits, especially to people over the age of forty. Getting the body moving increases blood flow for heart health, releases endorphins for mental health, and allows the body to sweat, releasing toxins that are extremely bad for the skin and other organs.

Another element that the Baby Boomers should consider is the impact of cigarettes and alcohol on personal health. This generation grew up in an era where nothing much was thought about smoking several cigarettes a day, and imbibing alcohol was a regular occurrence in many homes. It seems like such obvious advice, but giving up smoking, and limiting the amount of alcohol you consume can really add years to your life. But really, the way you feel will improve one hundred percent.

The last element of a healthy lifestyle for Baby Boomers would be a good night’s sleep. So often, working adults feel that they can get through the day on only a few hours, and be fine. Yet, what they do not realize is that, even though they may be able to function at the office that does not mean that this behavior is healthy.

Looking and feeling great involves taking care of your body, and taking the time to relax and fall asleep in a timely fashion often falls to the wayside. But many people of this generation are beginning to realize the need for sleep, and taking steps to ensure they fall asleep quickly at a decent hour, to wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.

Unlike with exercise, nutrition and quitting smoking and drinking, you do not have to do much to practice this method of health. All it takes is lying on the bed, and drifting off into a deep slumber, and years will be added to your life.

By combining all of these positive behaviors, the Baby Boomer generation will demonstrate that they will far outlive the average age of their parents and grandparents. All it takes is four positive steps.

For the Health of It!

By Allison  Maslan – Senior couple on cycle ride

We often take our health for granted until there is a reason to give it some attention. When acute pain or chronic symptoms arise, all of a sudden our health, which we may never have given a second thought, shoots to the forefront of our consciousness. If we are younger, and lucky enough to not experience any serious ailments, we may assume our good health will continue. And as we age, if we don’t treat our body-mind with care, prevention and maintenance, the systems of our body can begin to break down and become more vulnerable and susceptible to weakness and disease.

The Blastation Program incorporates a holistic point of view on healing because every part of your life affects and influences every other part of your life. For instance, financial worries can promote physical changes in the body that may lead to health issues. Meanwhile, it is clearly true that health impacts everything. When your body feels strong, it is much easier to focus, and your mood is uplifted and calm rather than frustrated and stressed. You are able to see and receive the abundance of life, rather than walking around seeing your life as that half-empty glass. By the same token, when your body is tired, weak, and in pain, it’s difficult to see and appreciate life’s simple beauty and the opportunities that may be sitting right at your feet. When you’re in pain, or feeling depressed, anxious, fearful or angry, it’s hard to get motivated to find or connect with your sense of purpose and passion.

In Deepak Chopra’s book, Quantum Healing, he explains that every cell in the body regenerates itself. The lifespan of red blood cells, for instance, is approximately thirty-seven days. Even brain cells have the capacity to regenerate. Nerve cells, he mentions, take the longest to renew. In fact, within a seven-year period, the body can create a completely new body of cells. Poor health is limiting, but the good news (as Deepak’s observation suggests) is that we can improve our health and well-being at any time, at any age of our lives.
Life can be stressful at times, no question.

And too much stress with no support to counteract its often harsh energy can have detrimental effects on the body and the psyche. On the other hand, when your body-mind is feeling nourished, sound and resilient, the stress will not create such a serious impact or have chronic implications.

When you find yourself under stress, overwhelmed, running late, and dealing with conflict or in an emotionally challenging situation, your body tenses up. You start gripping the steering wheel or gritting your teeth while thinking about what terrible thing is going to happen because you messed up big-time. Panic may even set in. Heart palpitations, tension headaches, and stomach upsets are a few of the physical reactions that you might have encountered in a stressful moment. If this is your state much of the time, you can see where chronic physical conditions could arise.

Your first line of defense is to breathe.

Your breath is your connection to life. Your first action as you entered this world was to breathe. Without breathing, there is isn’t anything for the body to draw on. Bringing in oxygen and expanding your lungs in a stressful moment, will give your body the new life energy it needs to deal with the crisis, and then bring your system back to center.

Do the Blastation Breathing Exercise on the Health Page anytime your are under stress or have a moment just to chill.

Move That Body!

I challenge you to make exercise a priority in your life. As I’ve already noted, it’s an important element of  Blastation  because a healthy motivated body-mind is more likely to have the energy and motivation you’ll need to reach your dreams. If you haven’t exercised in a while, it may take two to three months to start realizing some of the benefits—such as weight loss—even though you’re likely to start feeling better emotionally right away. So don’t give up after a month of little progress on the weight-loss front. Work out with a friend, hire a trainer…but whatever you do, stay consistent, and don’t give up. Longer term, regular exercise provides the opportunity for a longer, healthier, and more productive life. Please remember that without health you’ll never reach your true wealth. So turn off the television, stop making excuses, and get that body moving.

Input your mini feats for your weekly exercise plan so that you will be committed to making it happen. Any time you write your goals down, they move from fantasy to reality!

More Vitality, More Passion.

There’s nothing more humbling than to witness someone’s life transform from illness to vitality, from apathy to passion. When that happens, everything changes. As individuals reclaim their health, it can positively impact the dynamics of their entire life. There’s a desire to improve relationships, the motivation to reach for more in their careers, the incentive to be creative, and the inner peace to enjoy life’s small but powerful moments. You can improve your health at any age and at any stage. I went from huffing and puffing up the stairs to running 10k-run obstacle courses through the mud. If I can do it, so can you. The path to a healthy body-mind is an important part of the journey to the life of your dreams.

How to Keep Fit and Healthy at All Times

daisies2By William Messruther -

If you want to keep fit and healthy at all times, then you have to make some active effort. Keeping fit doesn’t only mean looking good from the outside. It means being physically active, mentally sound, and feeling energetic and ready to face the tasks of everyday life.

In order to keep fit and healthy, you don’t have to run for hours, or spend several hours at a gym, or playing football or tennis, or riding a bike. You can start by doing simple exercises. People have all sorts of excuses for not exercising. Most everyone has family, children, and busy work schedules to take care of. However, if you want to stay healthy and live longer, then you have to make some little changes towards a healthy lifestyle.

To keep fit and healthy, follow a healthy and balanced diet everyday. Make sure that your everyday diet includes lots of fruits, vegetables, and protein. You should cut down on red meat, junk foods, caffeine, and sugar intake. Avoid soft drinks or canned fruit juices. Instead, opt for a variety of fresh fruits, vegetable salads, freshly made fruit juices, milk, nutritious energy drinks, etc.

You need to be more active in order to keep fit and healthy. Modern life has become very sedentary, with fewer scopes for physical activities. You need to exercise in order to burn those calories. Minimum physical activity slows down your metabolism rate. So, you can put on weight even when you eat less. On the other hand, exercise and a more active life will burn up the calories, even when you eat a little more. You can simply go for a brisk walk, or jog, or you can join a gym. The important thing is that you must include some physical exercise in your everyday life, because fitness and health cannot be achieved without some physical exercise.

For a healthy life sufficient sleep is important. Lack of sleep can make you feel tired the next day. So work hard, but make sure that you have enough sleep; so that your body gets the time to replenish itself.

Do not skip your breakfast, no matter how busy you are. Breakfast is the first and most important meal of the day. It works as a fuel for your body and keeps you going for the rest of day. If you skip breakfast, you will feel hungrier in the latter part of the day, and you may end up eating more! So, you may run a risk of gaining weight, if you skip your breakfast frequently.

If you are not a healthy eater and find it difficult to improve your food habits due to busy, erratic, work schedules, then you may be depriving your body of the essential nutrients that are important for good health. In the long run, unhealthy food habits can lead you to serious health hazards. An easy solution to this problem is to include multi-vitamin supplements in your daily food intake. Multi-vitamins can be taken to replenish the nutritional deficiencies in your daily diet.

Following these simple but effective rules will enable you to keep fit and healthy at all times.

Do You Want To Be Healthy?

this is the question
By Michael Byrd –

There are 8,956 different ways to die. But, most people “choose” the same 4. Why do I say “choose”? Because the majority of our population are choosing a suicidal lifestyle that leads to early death.

As Dr. Augustus Grant, president of the American Heart Association, puts it, “Poor diet, excess body weight, physical inactivity and smoking, are modifiable risk factors that contribute to the premature death of close to 1.5 million Americans each year.”

“Last year,” according to John Seffrin, head of the American Cancer Society, “over 80 percent of all deaths in America were from 4 things – heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes.” And all of these 4 diseases are dramatically affected by a lifestyle of “poor diet, excess body weight, physical inactivity and smoking.”

And Americans aren’t the only ones. Now days, the rest of the world’s population are joining us in a lifestyle that leads to early death. Even though most people are born healthy, with the potential to live a long healthy life, they’re refusing to follow the guidelines from health experts and scientists all around the world.

Yet the evidence is undeniable and the message is being drummed out loud and clear on a daily basis. “You can do something about your health. You can protect yourself from chronic disease.” But, what do we do instead? The majority of the population continues a couch-potato lifestyle, eating junk food, gaining weight and smoking cigarettes.

This health crisis is so severe that the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society have joined forces to get the word out by delivering a unified, clear, straightforward message.

Here’s what the scientists and experts are saying. Most deaths are not caused by unlucky genes or even environmental toxins. People, all around the world, are dying prematurely because of the unhealthy lifestyle choices they’re making every day – day, after day, after day.

Most Americans, for example, are way overfed and way undernourished. More than 60% are either overweight or obese. Yet very few are eating the recommended 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Most don’t even get a pittance of that. And, when they do eat fruits and vegetables, it’s usually in the form of unhealthy banana splits or French fried potatoes.

What’s more, the majority of Americans still don’t exercise for the recommended 30 minutes a day. Nearly 1 out of every 4 still smoke after over thirty years of health warnings. And these negative statistics are growing throughout the world.

But you don’t have to be one of these statistics. If you want to avoid the fatal four – heart disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer – just follow the guidelines for optimum health. Eat a healthy diet, including fruits, vegetables and natural whole food supplements. Manage your weight. Exercise regularly. And don’t smoke.

After all, wouldn’t it be nice to live to be a happy, healthy, fit centurion and then die peacefully in your sleep with a big smile on your face, surrounded by loving family and friends?

Tips For Healthy Living – Little Things That Make Life Happy and Healthy

Coffee BreakBy Carolyn Anderson -

The benefits of living a healthy life are pretty obvious. It makes you stay physically active and you don’t easily get sick. If you are healthy and active, you can do all the things you want to do. That’s why most people are doing everything they can just to achieve a healthy life.

The most common tips for healthy living include doing regular fitness workouts, eating healthy foods, and practicing a healthy lifestyle.

For fitness workouts, you can also perform simple exercises at home or in the office if you don’t have time to go to the gym. Simple activities like walking, running, swimming, or dancing are best form of exercises that can be done at home. But if you are serious about getting physically fit and if you have enough time and budget to do it, gym membership is the best option for you.

When it comes to healthy eating, nothing can be healthier than eating vegetables, fresh fruits and plenty of pure water. A healthy eating habit means avoiding heavy dinners, junk foods, and plenty of sweets and fatty foods. To avoid taking unhealthy snacks, it is advisable that you eat complex carbohydrates, vegetables, and protein-rich foods during meals. Other healthy foods that you can take are nuts like cashews, almonds, and walnuts. Drinking a cup of herbal tea instead of coffee is also a healthy option.

To practice a healthy lifestyle is about stopping unhealthy vices like smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages.

Other helpful tips for healthy living that you can consider include purifying the air in your own homes, taking vitamins and health supplements, and losing weight if necessary.

In addition to the several tips for healthy living mentioned above, having a healthy and safe environment is also a must in order to live a healthy life. You can make your environment healthy by knowing the right place where to put the toxic waste and chemicals.

For parents, you have an added responsibility in taking care for the wellness and healthy life of your children aside from your own physical health and well-being.

Health care is also a very important part of living a healthy life. This covers regular medical checkups and screenings. It will help you reduce your spending on health care if a health problem is treated earlier. However, if you are already sick and in need of medication, you can ask your physician on switching to cheaper yet effective alternatives.

All these tips for healthy living will only become effective if you religiously follow them with all your heart. Remember, all the benefits you will get from these are also for your own good. You are primarily responsible for your own life. If you want a healthy and active life, no one else can help you achieve it without you helping yourself first. Your doctor, gym instructor, family, friends, or neighbors can help you live a healthy life but without your personal desire and commitment to achieving it, everything else will fail. Always put in your mind that living a healthy life will lead you to living a happy, fulfilling and satisfying life.

5 Ways to Stay Healthy

saladBy N. P. Collins -

Obesity and general “unhealthiness” are on the rise in North America, and more and more people are searching for ways to keep themselves and their families healthy. In a world of fast food, junk food and the cravings brought on by TV commercials, it’s no wonder that our waistlines are expanding. However, there are a few simple ways to keep your body healthy, (that don’t include dieting!) so don’t give up hope just yet.

1 – Drink Water: Everybody has heard all their lives that we should be drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. For the most part, people tend to ignore, or at best only partially obey this rule. Do not underestimate the health benefits of water! If you drink enough of it every day, it will continually flush toxins out of your body and you will feel the difference. Speaking from personal experience, since I started drinking 3 litres (100 oz) a day, I no longer feel the need for caffeine, and I have more energy than I know what to do with.

2 – Eat Your Greens: Many of you are probably thinking, “rabbit food is for rabbits!” Before you decide to leave the green stuff to the bunnies, consider the advantages of vegetables: Listing the benefits of lettuce, broccoli, carrots, celery, beans, peas, and many others would fill a book. Vegetables are full of much needed vitamins and minerals and they also fight heart disease, stroke, and cancer. You really can’t afford to skip the veggies.

3 – Go for a Walk: This is the easiest thing you can do to improve your health. It almost sounds too simple to work, but it does. Walking just 30 minutes a day helps heart health, reduces body fat and helps to get you in better shape. It is the simplest form of exercise, and it is also very easy to incorporate throughout your day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator; go for a quick stroll at lunchtime, or take your kids for a walk in the evening.

4 – Relax: This one should be fairly easy – everyone loves to grab some downtime! The stresses of life can get to us at times, but we need to be careful not to let our worries get the better of us. Stress can be very unhealthy and cause some serious problems such as heart attacks, anxiety and depression; not to mention emotional eating. Take some time everyday to unwind and relax by yourself and with your family. Always think about potentially stressful situations in perspective.

5 – Get Some Sleep: Not getting enough hours of sleep at night is one of the proven causes of obesity, fatigue, anxiety, depression and a lot of other unpleasant problems. Adults need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep per night to function well throughout the day. Don’t think you can catch up on lost sleep the next night either; once it’s gone, you can’t get it back.

Tip: Getting too much sleep a night (more than 8 hours) can also cause fatigue!

These 5 suggestions can help you live a longer and healthier life, but only if you follow them. If doing 5 things seems a bit overwhelming, try focusing on changing one habit at a time, and before you know it, you will feel better, look better and these 5 healthy habits will come naturally.
