There is a Real Self Esteem Crisis in America
By Lance Winslow

Many people are aware of the low self-esteem issues in the United States of America, especially with the younger generation. Psychologists are aware of the situation and they often working on boosting self-esteem with their clients that have depression or anxiety or for some reason feel inferior or lesser than those around them.

Of course, the percentage of people who feel lesser than those around them is the real issue. Theoretically, only half of the people should feel lesser than average, but the percentage is far greater than that. Why are people having trouble judging themselves and why do they feel this way? Many believe, as do I that we have a problem in the schools and the lack of competition and telling everyone they are equal in every way negates the fact that everyone is good at something.

If our younger generation finds what they are good at and fills that niche, we probably would not be prescribing so much anti-depressant medicine to everyone all the time. Additionally if we keep lowering the bar to allow everyone to feel equal and prevent winners and achievers from being rewarded their just due, then there will be fewer achievers and thus, the self-esteem problem gets worse and becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.

The long term affect for the nation has dire consequences with fewer people working to remain self-reliant and self-sufficient. This will cause the government to have to step in and assist them in things that were once basic requirements of survival in society. Many think tanks addressing this issue do not like these trends and fear that things are getting worse in America not better.

As the nation leans towards socialism, we may find our entire civilization on the verge of collapse because people believe they need the government to help them through life. With low self-esteem people often feel unable to do things, basic things and this causes them to not try. There is a real self-esteem crisis in America and it is time we do something about it.
