“For those who believe no proof is necessary. For those of you who don’t believe no proof is possible. -Stuart Chase

Being in alignment with your desires and goals from the inside out will help you to achieve whatever it is you want in life. But, the problem is that most people do the opposite. They have a conscious desire to either find a relationship, get out of debt, lose weight, heal from heartache or whatever the case may be.

But their inner beliefs are what stop them from getting what they desire. For example, let’s say you want to meet someone to share your life with. You’ve put yourself out there but yet you still come up empty handed so to speak. Well, 9 times out of 10 it’s because your inner dialogue goes something like this: I really want to meet someone but I’m getting too old, no one will want someone with 3 kids, I’ve tried but all the good ones are taken, who am I kidding I’m a loser at love and on and on.

Or, say you want to lose weight but the only thing you’ve lost is time wishing you would lose it. Your inner dialogue might be: it’s too hard to lose weight, I don’t have time to exercise, food is my only pleasure in life, no matter what I do I know I will only gain it back, exercise is too difficult to start now, etc.

Now here’s the deal, beliefs are thoughts that you tell yourself over and over again whether they are true or not. And, if you continue to believe them and internally repeat them that is exactly what you will create and exactly what you will experience.

So, even though you consciously say, I want whatever it is, internally you are not in true alignment with what you desire, therefore, that is why you are still in the same position living your life with what you don’t want!

Worse yet, because most times you are more focused on the problem or lack of something you want in your life you are attracting more of what you stay focused on…ugh!

How do you get yourself in alignment with what you want? Start to focus on what you want instead of what you don’t want and stop making excuses in your mind as to why you will never have it.

If you change your mind, if you change that inner dialogue and start to believe it before you see it you will begin to experience it in time. If you don’t believe what I’m saying, look at what you ARE focused on (lack, debt, no love, heartache, too fat, etc.) and I bet it’s exactly what you are living!

Changing that inner dialogue does take some conscious effort to flip the script but if you don’t do it, start to accept your life just the way it is and learn to like it.

On the other hand, if you truly want to live a better life then start to believe you can and each time you start to walk down It-Will-Never-Happen-For-Me Lane, instead steer your mind to I-Know-I-Can-Do-This Highway and go for the ride of your life.

Make your thoughts serve you to bring about what you truly want instead of limiting you to what you already have and don’t want. The Law of Attraction, as cliché as some may think, is alive and well and you are living proof of it.

Keep your mind focused on where you want to go and how you want to live, release the fear and worry that go along with lack and wanting. When you are in a state of wanting, you send that vibe out into the world and it will only bring back to you more wanting.

If you get your conscious desires and your internal thoughts in alignment, that harmonious vibration will bring about the kinds of changes in your life that you used to believe would never happen.

We all have a choice as to what we say to ourselves about any given situation, so choose your thoughts wisely for they have the power to make a difference in how you experience your life!

By Irene Conlan -

Yesterday I received an email from a very old friend whom I have not seen for over 35 years. We have not had a chat yet nor a long exchange of emails – just an exchange of “Hi, I just found you on the Net” and “Oh, my gosh, catch me up to date.” I look forward to more news.

But talk about the past smacking you right in the face. My memory went into overdrive and images of those days came flooding back into my mind. Some were good, some not so good. It brought up memories of my marriage, the birth of my two boys, friends I thought I’d never lose track of and yet have. The years strutted before me like a parade of then and now – the years in nursing, the time in Washington, D.C. as a Congressman’s wife, the return to “normal” living in Arizona, watching my boys grow into men, my business venture, the divorce and starting again, the deaths of some I loved so dearly and another bout of starting over again. The search for meaning after trauma and disappointment and the challenge of doing better and being better that drove me on was a theme that ran throughout it all. It was an interesting review.

Looking back is like looking at the proverbial mountain and valley life – the good and the bad, the ups and downs, the highs and lows – all leading to the next chapter in this life drama that is mine. There were times when I thought I just couldn’t go on and times I thought nothing could stop me. I’m sure you have had those, too.

With retrospect I see that each peak was higher than the lowest low – it looks like a line on a growth chart that shows steady growth with its occasional dips that give you momentum. Up three spaces and back two, up four spaces and back three, up three spaces and back one – and so it went and so it goes.

My conclusion after the review? I have had a wonderful life.I still have one. I have met exciting and interesting people in the realms of power and I now meet people who are equally exciting and interesting in the grocery store and in my neighborhood. I have had opportunities to stretch, grow and learn and I am presented with those same opportunities on a daily basis. I learned to appreciate beauty in the National Gallery of Art and in the hearts and faces of the people I meet every day.

Suffering, and, yes, there was some suffering, brought out abilities and resilience I didn’t know I had and the challenge to continue was greater than the temptation to give up.

I realize I am a crazy, eternal, overoptimistic optimist and I wouldn’t have it any other way but, in reality, I am no different from you. You have had ups and downs, ins and outs, gains and losses etc. And you have made the best choices you could make while your roller coaster just kept speeding ahead. I believe that how I interpret and accept the lessons of the past sets the groundwork for what I experience in the future. I am looking forward to some great years and want to live up to the popular quote – Here it is, a paraphrase of something motorcycle racer Bill McKenna said:

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, ‘WOW, WHAT A RIDE!!!’”

By Steve Wickham http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Steve_Wickham

It is said we learn either one of two ways: the easy way or the hard way. The theory is this — the easy way of learning things is via observing others and learning from their mistakes, versus the hard way, which is learning lessons from our own hard mistakes.

Apart from a wonderful time away, my first wedding anniversary will always be memorable for one of the hard lessons learned. Driving back from the south-west, complete with the guidance of a borrowed GPS, I was using the 5 kilometre error in my speedometer to take my speed to the limit. Normally I’m a very careful driver with my speed. As it happened I inched up and over the speed limit — in fact my vehicle was well over the 110 kph limit on a particular stretch of road that’s known for accidents — and one that’s heavily patrolled. The rest is history.

I was only temporarily over the limit but I’d been skating close to the edge for the entire weekend. It is plain to me now that the $150 fine and the two (2) demerit points I got for speeding are actually a huge blessing in disguise as I find God reminding me of the promise I made to obey all the road laws this year and beyond. I get $20 per fortnight pocket money and it will take three months to pay for the fine, but I’m glad because it is a good way of learning a hard lesson.

Some people might think that my thinking’s a little bizarre. But I know that paying for hard lessons with grace and acceptance is the best way of dealing with the pain and embarrassment that inevitably comes. It’s hard initially but easier in the longer run.

If you have a hard lesson to learn, learn it once and for all, as much as you possibly can and:

1. Don’t reject the lesson, skirting your responsibility. If you transgressed it is you that must pay.

2. Don’t get down on yourself — stay positive. If you can accept the lesson there’s no need to berate yourself.

3. Ensure that others, where possible, aren’t also punished for your mistakes — my wife shouldn’t have to ‘fund’ my fine from the family budget — that would punish her when she’s not at fault.

4. Make sure you apologise to people affected and seek their forgiveness also.

It is no real issue if you consider you’ve actually done everything to learn a lesson from a mistaken or erroneous action. The main thing is learning the lesson and then moving on. Don’t worry; if you haven’t in fact learned the lesson properly, you’ll no doubt get another chance — life seems to work out that way!
