Optimum Health Begins With Proper Breathing

happy1By Michael Huddleston -

Many people are not aware that with proper breathing health will follow. This is due to the fact that breathing supplies oxygen to the blood. Therefore, it is necessary to breathe properly in order to provide the blood with the right amount of oxygen it needs. Many people practice shallow breathing which is unhealthy. This is because shallow breaths can cause toxic effects to the cells of the body. The best thing to do is to learn how to breathe in a way that will be of the most benefit to your health.

The best approach to this topic is to assess your own style of breathing and determine if you need to make a change. Ask yourself if you breathe too fast or if you often become out of breath. Take note that breaths per minute for men average to be from 12-14 per minute, while women’s breaths average between 14 and 15 per minute. Also consider if your breathing has a tendency to become labored, or if you breathe in a shallow manner. If you realize that any of the above are true of you, then you would likely benefit from yogic breathing. Remember, with proper breathing health will follow.

The following steps will help you engage in yogic breathing:

1. Sit in a chair in a quiet location so that you will not be distracted.

2. Close your eyes and visualize something calming such as a lone figure skater gliding across a deserted frozen pond.

3. Allow your breathe to go in and out through your nose in a long and smooth movement, much like the figure skater gliding across the frozen pond. If you can’t inhale and exhale through your nose comfortably. Then try inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth instead.

4. Repeat the above actions for 20 repetitions, and then allow yourself to return to the way that you normally breathe.

5. Keep your eyes closed as your breathing returns to normal, and take note of how you feel after this exercise.

It is important that you check with your physician if you have any type of breathing or health issues before trying this type of technique. Also, never do more than 20 reps at a time, and don’t strain while breathing. The whole point of yogic breathing is to be in a relaxed state. When you become more practiced at yogic breathing, you can extend it into your daily activities. With this type of breathing health will surely follow.

10 Tips For Manifesting Optimal Health and Boundless Energy

happy1By Rijuta Tooker -

Manifesting optimal health and boundless energy will increase your physical, mental and emotional stamina, strengthen your immune system and bring more joy and fulfillment to your life. After resting on the weekends, many begin the work week on Monday with zest and enthusiasm and wonder why, by Wednesday, they are feeling the usual fatigue and stress.

Most of us know what we must do for better health and increased energy but need reminders about what actions we need to take. In order to immediately optimize your health and energy, have the body of your dreams and enjoy glowing beauty, utilize the following tips:

1. Drink plenty of water. Water cleanses and rejuvenates and acts as a conductor of healing energies that pass through your body. Your body is made up of great amounts of water so the water you drink should be absolutely pure. Read a fascinating book by Dr. Masaru Emoto, The hidden messages in water. His experiments have shown that the structure of water can be changed. We can positively impact our health by exposing the water we drink to loving thoughts.

2. Use full spectrum lighting. Florescent lighting, although cheaper, affects our emotions and physical health in a negative way, bringing irritability and fatigue. People who use full spectrum lighting are calmer, have greater mental clarity and greater energy. Incandescent lighting, though better than fluorescent lighting, lacks ultraviolet (UV) light.

3. Get out in the direct sunlight at least 20 minutes daily. It has been found that increased exposure to sunlight decreases heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar and lactic acid. Sunlight increases the efficiency of the heart and the ability of blood to carry oxygen. Other benefits include increased strength, energy and tolerance to stress.

4. Use an air filter to clean the air in your home, especially if you live in the city or must keep your windows closed most of the time.

5. Use a humidifier to prevent the drying effects of heaters if you live where it is cold in the winter. Or, use a dehumidifier if you live where it is hot and humid or near water.

6. Eat locally grown organic food that is fresh and in season in your locale, or grow your own. For excellent energy, eat a wide variety of nutritious and colorful foods, especially green. Eat uncooked foods with each meal or lightly steamed in colder weather. Buy a book to help you get started.

7. Exercise daily for strength, endurance, agility and balance. You will find numerous videos, books, gyms and health clubs for your instruction and education. Get out and walk – anytime, anywhere. The only equipment needed is a pair of walking shoes. Do not like to walk? Simply move, move, move – indoors or outdoors. Movement is self-nourishment. No need for structured movement; your body will create what it needs and wants in the moment. Call it ‘soul movement’.

8. Keep your stress levels down – vitally necessary for excellent health and energy. Good nutrition, creative outlets, exercise and rest will support. Avoid people and situations that steal your energy, including nightly news on TV.

9. Read self-improvement books. Listen to tapes, teleconferences; attend talks, workshops and seminars to constantly heighten and expand your consciousness. Help yourself and ultimately, contribute to the betterment of others.

10. Spend quality time alone in order to center yourself and to accept what you need to change about yourself. Take early morning walks, visit the museum during lunch or pray and meditate. Quiet time is essential if you wish a life of optimal health, radiant energy, happiness, success and contribution. Things are now changing with lightning speed and we must keep our personal vibration at the highest possible level.

Utilize these suggestions now. Do not wait until your happiness level goes down, your health is compromised or your success is short-circuited. Follow these tips for life-improvement and life-transformation. They will serve the highest aspirations of your heart and soul. You will be manifesting a life of optimal health and boundless energy, taking you toward your most valued goals.
