You Must Overcome This Difficulty To Be A Success!

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe Quotes: You Must Overcome This Difficulty To Be A Success!

By Chace T Parask

“Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and to put one’s thoughts into action is the most difficult thing in the world.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Why is it that some people seem to accomplish so much in so little time? How come you constantly hear stories of somebody who was broke as a joke and then all of a sudden a year later they have made six or seven figures? How does success come so fast for some people?

Thinking is always easy, but success minded thinking is not a habit which everyone possesses. So even though thinking may be easy, your thoughts may not be taking you where you want to go. Knowing how to think and then immediately acting on your thoughts creates success momentum!

The saying that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is absolutely true. Those people who are rich got there for a reason and that reason was not luck! You all know someone who had every opportunity in the world, but they blew it. Likewise we have all seen someone who had all the odds stacked against them, but somehow they managed to come out on top.

The successful individual grooms their thoughts. They consistently manicure every idea and mold their thoughts to their preference. So for the successful individual thinking itself is an action. The successful individual drives their thoughts towards their goals. Think of your thoughts as a train. If you are driving a train and you want to get your precious cargo to its destination then you must keep the train on the tracks and certainly on the correct track. If you let your thoughts run wild that is like setting a train on full throttle and then curling up and taking a nap. That would be utter insanity. The train would blast off the first tight corner, it would smash into cars, at the very least it would take the wrong track and would never reach its objective.

Habit number one today is: Take action with your thoughts. Don’t let your mind react to the world around it, concentrate your thoughts on that which you desire.

Successful people know that when they have an idea or a passion they must act on it to give it the power it has. You know this is true. There was an old man, that used to live next to us. He did not have two pennies to rub together, he lived with his very elderly mother and he was the most unhappy person you ever met. When I would go over there as a child he would tell me every miserable thing that ever happened in his life. Then he would tell me all the great ambitions he had. When I would ask him what he did to act on his ideas the answer was always the same. “Ooh I didn’t do that, because (insert lame excuse here)!” Even as a child I felt confused, here was an adult that I should respect, but he seemed to lack simple common sense. His advice was always virally negative, “Ah, don’t do that, that will never workout!” Whenever I left his presence it was a breath of fresh air. Like the dark cloud of failure had drifted away and a burst of positive energy was allowed back into my life.

Fast forward fifteen years and I am sitting in one of my uncle’s multimillion dollar homes. This man is a success in everything he does. He talks as if the world bends to his will. He is not conceded or cocky he just has this expectation that when he puts his mind to something he will do it. His answer to everything is, “Well is that what you want? Then go do it!” I never want to leave his presence, he is a man of action! He is always happy, always smiling. His positive energy is infectious! He knows what he wants, he focuses on it and then he takes immediate action. Without ever looking back.

Habit number two today is: Take immediate action on your desires, once you have a developed your concentrated thoughts.

If you create these two habits within yourself, you will properly focus the energy of abundance in your life. Then success will find you with incredible speed. Those who changed their lives or those who continue to lead successful lives, they lead their minds with the habits above. It works for them and it will work for you!

Are You A Prisoner of Your Own Making?

By Jim Donovan -

There is a wonderful story about the famous escape artist, Harry Houdini that illustrates the theme of this issue of my newsletter. As the story goes, the great Houdini often boasted about how he could escape from any confinement or jail cell. One day, he was challenged by the keeper of a new, high tech, high security jail purported to be escape proof.

Houdini accepted the challenge and was given a specific amount of time to complete this seemingly impossible task. Poor Harry tried everything with no success. He attempted to pick and manipulate the lock and every other trick he knew. The lock did not budge.

After many hours, with his body drenched in sweat, he collapsed against the door, which opened. You see, it had never been locked in the first place. It was all in his mind! The great Houdini was held prisoner by his own thoughts. His thinking kept him from breaking out of the jail cell. He believed the door was locked, believed it would be difficult to open and, sure enough, it was.

How many of us are held prisoner by our own thoughts? How many times do we create our own “jails” in our minds? How many things have you wanted to do but did not because you thought you would fail? Are your thoughts and beliefs keepingyou a prisoner in your own mind? What are some of the things you want to do? Do you want to have a new relationship, lose weight, learn a sport, dance, sing, start a business, travel? What’s stopping you? What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Why not just go for it and see what happens? Instead of being worried you might fail, why not ask, “what if I succeed?” Remember the statement made by Henry Ford who said,

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”

Happiness Is A Choice – 3 Keys To Choosing Happiness

By Jason Osborn -

Did you know that happiness is a choice? I know it doesn’t always seem like it but it is. Just think about it. How can someone who has everything in life be miserable and yet someone that hardly has anything can be amazingly happy? It comes down to what they choose. Happiness is a choice that you must make. Here are 3 keys to help you choose happiness.

1. Don’t be led by emotions.

Emotions are very powerful but can be dangerous if you don’t control them. If you are led by your emotions it will be difficult to continually be happy. You see, emotions change with every little thing that happens if you let them. Happiness is a choice you have to make regardless of what outside circumstances are. The better control you have of your emotions the more you will be able to choose to be happy.

2. Set yourself up to be happy.

Most people actually set themselves up to be unhappy. They set the rules to be happy so high that it’s practically impossible to be happy. Are the rules that you have set to be happy to hard? For instance, are one of your rules for happiness that you feel happy when you successful? If so, being successful all the time is hard to do. The odds are that you will be unhappy more then you will be happy if this is your rule. Make you rules easier and you will be happier.

3. Choose your thoughts wisely.

Happiness is a choice and therefore starts in your mind. If you think on things that are unhappy you will be unhappy. Begin the process of being happy by changing what you think on. You have a choice of what you are going to dwell on so make the choice to think about happy things.

Early Morning Thoughts on New Year’s Day

2010redsmallBy Irene Conlan -

I don’t think you can call what’s happening here an article – it is more like musings – a hodge podge of thoughts about the new year.

It is very quiet this morning. Except for some screaming sirens that seemed to cry endlessly before their sound faded away, there have been few sounds to break the stillness. What were the sirens heralding? A wreck? A fire? It sounded like a number of units responded to the call for help. Someone’s new year is off to a shaky start at best or a tragic beginning at worst. Something in me hopes it was a false alarm and something in me knows it was not. I pray. I send my angels to them. I send love and light.

I love the silence. In my younger days I had to have the TV on whether I was watching it  or not or I played continuous music – anything to break the silence that seemed to command me to examine my life. Across the years there has been a reckoning – not a big formal confrontation of myself with myself – but a gradual, almost unnoticed coming to terms with myself. Peace began to settle in when I began to meditate. I did work with brain waves and tapes, light and sound – I love this kind of thing – and didn’t notice what was taking place within me. I’m certainly not finished. Anyone who knows me will tell you  I’m still in the product testing lab and yet I have come to be at peace with me and with those around me. Now I am comfortable in the silence.

I’ve been thinking about  what to me are the most important occurrences of the past ten years. What has happened in the first decade of this new millennium that is worth mentioning? My list probably won’t agree with anyone else’s but it’s my list and my picks. I’d love to hear yours. I think of several:

  • The growth of the Internet that made it possible to interact with people all over the planet with a single keystroke. Information, whether true or false, can be passed across the planet in a very short period of time. It has created a whole new batch of scam and scam artists to be aware of and, at the same time has put wonderful information at our fingertips. We have had a mixing of cultures unheard of and impossible in the past and, hopefully, we have all grown from it. As more people gain access in the future, the effect will be even more profound.
  • The cell phone  has changed us worldwide  both for better and worse. Information can be passed along quickly but there’s no place to go to get away from it. Some people seem to have the phone growing out of an ear or glued to their fingers while they text frantically. When is there time to think? The phones now do everything from send and receive calls, to making dinner reservations and quizzing us to see if we’re too drunk to drive. They get our emails, check on our stocks and play our favorite music. As American Express says, “Don’t leave home without it.”
  • The growing popularity of meditation. It is no longer just a “religious” practice. It is used to commune with the Divine, yes, but it is also used to help get us centered, grounded, calm, unstressed and creative. It is being taught and used even in major corporations to help the executives be less stressed and more productive. It is a magnificent tool.
  • The research on the chemicals of emotion and thought that help us understand more about the human being and how incredibly complex and holistic we are. Chemicals of thought and emotions are found in every cell of the body, etc. . The understanding and wider acceptance of the power of thought has also come into the forefront and the idea of “manifesting” has people abuzz. Actually, the scientists are discovering what the mystics have know across the centuries.
  • YouTube takes us from the ridiculous to the sublime with some comedy in between within a few moments. You can get a cross section of life in a few moments and wander into some very bizarre territory letting you know clearly that we are not all the same.
  • Positive Psychology that takes our focus away from “what’s wrong with me” to “what’s right with me.” What a difference a thought makes!

This is just a beginning of my list but it looks like electronics head my list so far.  I will mull on it a while longer.

Now I have to go find some breakfast and get settled in for the Rose Bowl Parade, some football and a day of quietly enjoying this first day of 2010.

Happy New Year to you all.

Psssst! Over here. Got a minute?

clouds1By Irene Conlan -

Turn off the TV and take out your ipod earbuds. Turn off your cell phone so we won’t be interrupted and get your hands off your computer. I need your complete attention and it will only take a moment or two. I promise. If you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed, rushed and ragged, pay attention.

The keyword here is silence. SILENCE?

Are you kidding me?

No.

Silence is to the soul/mind what food is to the body. We have to have it for healthy growth.

When were you last silent? I mean REALLY silent? Have you ever been able to turn the mind chatter off? Have you ever stopped the thoughts, even for a moment?  Most of us have not. And with the advent of electronics – cell phones, ipods, and computers . we can take our noise with us wherever we go. How do you feel when it’s quiet? Do you go looking for something to supply some noise?  Do you sometimes  turn on the TV even though you don’t intend to watch it,  just so it fills up the empty space of no sound? Do you pop on your ipod to keep the quiet away? Do you get nervous and edgy when it’s quiet?

What’s the big deal about silence?

It is in the silence that great thoughts, great inventions, great actions are formed. Interrupting the process with noise is like digging up a seed to see if it has started growing. Dig it up a few times and it dies.Push the creativity down with noise and it, too dies.

Silence is important to our health and well being. Deepak Chopra says healing comes in the space between thoughts. If that is true, do we have enough spaces between our thoughts for healing to take place significantly?

Try this. Take a moment. If you have a timer handy set it for three minutes. Close your eyes. Take a few long deep breaths and exhale slowly. Inside your mind say, “Rest. Relax. Silence.” Pay attention to where your thoughts go. Try to simply let them go and find the place of silence. When the time is up notice: Were there any spaces between your  thoughts or did they scramble for first place each thought shouting, “Me first?” Did they go parading through your mind one after another or running through helter skelter trying to be heard before the noise starts again? Did the voice keep saying, “Is time up yet?”  Did you have any time at all without thought? When you finished did you feel more relaxed and in control?

We all want to be in control – of pretty much everything – and the hardest thing to control is our own mind, our own thoughts.  It is possible to get control if you give it some time and effort.  Start of with three minutes a day getting quiet, relaxed and pushing thoughts out of your mind – just for three minutes. Your mind will want to talk and will make little remarks and side comments but stay with it until you find the rich, glorious silence. Three minutes. You can do that, can’t you? Then lengthen the time gradually until you find an amount of time right for you.

Three minutes of blissful, rich silence. This won’t happen overnight, but with consistency it will happen and you will begin to notice nice little changes taking place. There will come a time when you look forward to this session because it will become an oasis in your desert of noise. You mind will begin to enjoy peace and freedom from its constant chattering and you will begin to notice a feeling of calmness, clarity and well being that you have not experienced before.

O.K. turn all the stuff back on if you need to get back to some good old mind numbing noise. Thanks for the time.

Do Nothing – Rejuvenate Mind, Body and Spirit

bluebutterflyBy Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD -

When you feel tired and emotionally worn out, you might be tempted to push yourself to continue with your usual activities. Spending time resting and restoring your energy is far more productive in the end. With only ten to twenty minutes of rest, you can return to your activities refreshed and work more efficiently.

One of the best ways to rest is to do nothing. Find a quiet place, sit comfortably and allow yourself to unwind. Avoid focusing your mind on anything in particular. Allow your thoughts to drift lazily, which will give your mind a rest as well as your body. Taking a short nap (ten – twenty minutes) is very effective to rejuvenate the mind and body.

Many people believe watching TV is a good way to rest, however, this could not be further from the truth. Even though your mind might be only partially engaged, your mind is still engaged and does not have the benefit of focusing on nothing or drifting.

We are taught that doing nothing is counterproductive and lazy, which can cause you to develop the habit of busyness for the sake of busyness. While living productive lives is important you also need periods of rest and quiet in order to recharge your batteries.

When you put aside all activities and allow yourself to do nothing, you immediately begin to feel more balanced and peaceful. The quietness of your mind and body eliminates distractions and allows you to connect on a deeper level with your spiritual center. You will regain your energy and feel more productive again. By resting and relaxing quietly, feelings of fatigue dissipate and will be replaced with energized optimism.

Happiness is a Mere Thought Away

By C. Om

I have good news for you!

The only difference between you being as happy as you ever possibly could, and how you are right now, is how you are feeling.

Sounds a bit obvious, huh? Well it is common sense. But you know what they say; “Common sense is not common.” Most people never give this any thought what-so-ever. [Read more...]
