Lawrience headshotIt is estimated that seven in ten girls believe they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members.   75% of girls with low self-esteem reported engaging in negative activities such as disordered eating, cutting, bullying, smoking, or drinking when feeling bad about themselves (compared to 25% of girls with high self-esteem). Michael Lawrience, after thirteen years of working with teens, has written  Self-Esteem: A Teen’s Guide for Girls to address this issue of and give girls the necessary tools to help them raise their self esteem and their self confidence. We will discuss the pressures society puts on girls to look and act in certain ways and what we can do to help them develop a healthy body image and become secure, self confident young women.

Michael Lawrience is a holistic health practitioner, self-esteem coach and mentor and a self-help author .
