Are you a mediator?
I don’t mean to get personal. I ask you because meditation is the most powerful self improvement tool I know of and I want to tell you about something that started today. It’s not too late to become a part of it and I’ll keep this short so you can get signed up and start from the beginning.
The Chopra Center started a twenty-one day meditation today and the theme is love. Here’s what they have to say about it:
We have divided our Free to Love challenge into three themes. The first week will focus on “Your Pathway to Freedom,” letting go of anything in the past that no longer serves us. Our second week is entitled, “Healing the Heart,” looking at all the positive emotions that can emanate from the heart, provided we listen to its voice. Finally, we will focus on “Living in Love,” from self-love, to love of family, and finally expanding our love into the world.
The daily practice of meditation has proven to provide greater levels of intuition and creativity, relief from stress and anxiety, a more restful sleep, an increasing inner calm, and innumerable health benefits. Deepak Chopra writes about meditation, “Meditation is a simple process that is difficult to describe, but is very easy to do once you begin to practice it regularly.”
I have done their twenty one day meditations twice before and I find them to be helpful, beautiful, inspiring and always just what I need at the time. I have been meditation for quite a number of years and, still considering myself a novice mediator, love to experience something of this quality as a guide for improvement.
If you are serious about your self improvement journey, meditation is the best tool you can have in your toolbox. It is like a hammer is to a carpenter or a stethoscope is to a doctor – essential to their work.
