Love is a Four Letter Word
Love is something we all long for and look for. Poets write sonnets (and other poems), musicians sing about it, writers pen best selling romance novels, and, yes, bloggers blog about it. It’s almost impossible to define and, yet, we all seem to know what it is. Love is a four letter word that needs to be defined by you, understood, and embraced.
In February, especially, our thoughts turn to love. Valentine’s day makes us think of love and every store has reminders—aisles filled with cards, heart-shaped boxes of candy, candles and other gifts for your sweetheart. Ads for diamond jewelry come in email and show up on TV, generally in commercials for a specific jewelry store. Reminders are everywhere. The implication is that Valentines Day is a day to express your love with a gift—the more expensive the better.
There are other and better ways if you get creative. Think about it. What is the most loving and romantic thing you can do for your beloved? A massage? A romantic dinner that you prepared? Revisiting something special that you shared in the past?
It might be fun to read some things that have been said about love over the years. Perhaps it will give you some ideas on how to express your love to that very special person. Thanks to Jenifer Johnson of the HAI Global / Human Awareness Institute we have the infographic below to help us with that. Enjoy.
