How to Change a Mindset

By Therese Roe –

Changing your mindset can often be difficult, you might want to lose weight or give up a bad habit, its OK for a couple of days, until you fall off the bandwagon and go back to the old habit you were trying to erase.

It’s a well know fact that over 90% of people who win the lottery will lose it all in the first 5 years. This sounds so crazy, but its not really when you understand the mindset and how it works to keep us all nice and safe in our comfort zone.

Your Self Image

Your self image is basically what you think of yourself or how you view yourself. It determines how much money you earn, how much you weigh, your hairstyle, where you live etc. If your mindset or self image is that of a wealthy person, that earn a million dollars per year, drives a BMW and lives on the waterfront, then that is the life you will lead. If however, you see yourself as Joe Average, living in the suburbs, with 6 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cats and living on $30,000 per year, then you guessed it, that is what your life will be like.

The major dilemma comes, when we try and change the way we see ourselves. We might want to be more successful and earn more money to get ahead, do some traveling etc, but the old grey matter just digs in the heels and stops us in our tracks.

It senses we are out of our comfort zone and will do anything it can to get us back into that place where we feel safe.

I have been using a program called Reprogramming the Mind for Success. This is an e-book by Dean Whittingham. Dean explains how the brain works to keep you in your comfort zone.

He explains in easy terms why it is that you find it so hard to change and gives great tips about changing your mindset to a successful one.

He includes all sorts of nifty tools like desktop subliminal software, CD ex which lets you rip music, Audacity that allows you to record, edit and mix your voice. Just with these two tools alone, you can make music and mix affirmations with it using your own voice – how cool. There’s also more downloads he has included.

This program is what I have been using for the last 6 months to help me overcome my lack of confidence. I am really enjoying it. Most of it is really easy to use, just watch or listen. You can Change your Mindset too

Onwards and Upwards
