Stay Fit, Lose Weight, And Return To Health At Any Age

By Tony Belmont –

Which would you rather do: Let your body go to hell, or go to health? If you made the second choice, but have been living the first, then you need to take action. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, you need to make changes. Even if you are well, you may need to make some changes to stay that way. You must do it now, because once you’ve have a problem, it is much harder to fix then it is to avoid it in the first place. The best way to do this is with some kind of plan and with some goals in mind. The plan must include information on losing weight (or maintaining proper weight for you height), eating well, and proper exercise. The plan should also give you the motivation you must have to succeed.

Remember, if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got. If you are not well and you change nothing, how will you get well? Your body is pretty amazing – you can feed it junk year after year, and feel okay – until one day things start to go wrong. So what do many people do when this happens? They turn to legal (prescription) or illegal drugs. Side effect of these may include headaches, nausea, dizziness, sleep walking/driving, liver damage, and death and many other possibilities. Now you are in a downward cycle – poor eating, no exercise (because you feel too sick), and you’re taking drugs that may mask some of the problems, while adding more problems to the original ones.

It would have been better to change things before reaching this point, but it is not too late, although it may take time. We were made to live in balance with nature. We were meant to exercise and eat whole, natural foods that were supplied by nature and that our bodies, over the eons, learned how to utilize. If you can get back to that system, the chances are very good you will return to a condition of health. How do you make the changes and return?

You can do it through trial and error, or through the many programs available (for example, see The cost of most programs is minimal compared to doctor’s visits and prescription drugs. One benefit of these programs (besides getting healthy and fit) is that what might otherwise take months or years to learn on your own, can be learned in a very short time. This will allow you to return to health that much sooner.

What should you look for in a program? At the very least, that it has been successful for many people, that it was built from experts in exercise, nutrition, and motivation, and that it offers a 100% guarantee, allowing you to try it without any risk.

While deciding which program might be right for you, you can immediately begin eliminate substances that are detrimental to your health – this includes processed foods and sugars, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, trans-fatty acids, and hydrogenated oils. Check labels carefully – even health food stores have many processed foods and desserts with sugar as the number one ingredient (studies have shown the average person consumes 150 pounds of sugar a year). A few weeks after eliminating sugar, many foods start to taste better. And at least some problems will begin to fade away.

You may have to break some old habits and addictions to accomplish the changes to your diet. However, with the right motivation and goals, and perhaps some hard work, one can eliminate the old habits and addictions and learn new healthy habits to replace them with.

For one person, making just one change (eliminating sugar), eliminated a case of “nervous stomach.” It faded away over a period of about six months. Each person is different, as is each health problem. It may take a longer or shorter time for some problems to fade away. But if you stick to a healthy diet and exercise program, the odds are in your favor that over some period of time, you will go to health.
